Samsung is shaking up its software testing strategy by expanding the One UI 8.5 Beta program to a wider range of devices than ever before. Moving away from its traditional exclusivity to flagship models, the rollout now mirrors the broader scale of major Android updates.

The beta is currently live across six key markets: the US, UK, South Korea, Germany, Poland, and India. This expanded reach highlights Samsung's push to accelerate software refinement by gathering diverse, multi-regional user feedback.

The current roster of eligible devices includes:

  • Galaxy S Series: S25, S25+, S25 Ultra | S24, S24+, S24 Ultra | S23, S23+, S23 Ultra

  • Galaxy FE Series: S25 FE, S24 FE, S23 FE

  • Galaxy Z Series: Z Fold 7, Fold 6, Fold 5 | Z Flip 7, Flip 6, Flip 5

  • Galaxy A Series: A36, A35 | A55, A54

Compared to its initial phase—which was restricted solely to the Galaxy S25—the program's footprint has grown rapidly. Notably, the inclusion of the Galaxy A36 signals a rare but welcome shift for Samsung, bringing early beta access down to the mid-range tier, a move seldom seen in previous update cycles.
