Fresh off bringing One UI 8.5 to its flagship devices, Samsung is now rolling out the highly anticipated update to its mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones. Next in line to get the software bump are the Galaxy A54, A34, A25, and M54.
Currently, the stable build is officially live for users of the A-series trio in South Korea, while the Galaxy M54 is picking up the new firmware across various Asian markets. Depending on your specific device, carrier, and region, the update will arrive under firmware versions FZE2, FZE6, EZE8, or FZE5, with download sizes varying accordingly.
The biggest changes in this update revolve around a major visual overhaul and UI enhancements. Several system apps now feature a floating navigation bar—a clever design choice that maximizes screen real estate while keeping essential controls within easy thumb's reach. Samsung has also redesigned the entire quick settings panel, app icons, and transition animations with a minimalist approach, delivering a smoother, more intuitive feel.
Smart interactions are getting a significant boost, too. Bixby’s upgraded algorithms now recognize commands more accurately, allowing for natural, context-aware conversations. Meanwhile, the default camera app has been reorganized to make one-handed shooting a breeze. Best of all, users of these mid-range phones can now download the Camera Assistant app to tweak advanced photography settings—a feature previously reserved for higher-end models.
How to check for the update
Typically, your phone will notify you when the new software is ready. If you want to check manually, simply head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it hasn't popped up yet, hang tight—the OTA package should be rolling out to the Vietnamese market in the coming days.
