Samsung has officially kicked off the rollout of its December 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in South Korea. This release is the latest step in Samsung’s ongoing support roadmap, aimed at bolstering security for the foldable devices released in 2022.

According to the changelog, the December 2025 patch addresses 57 security vulnerabilities found within both the Android operating system and Samsung’s own software components. This update follows a similar rollout for newer Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models, now expanding coverage to the fourth-generation foldables.

Currently, the update is live in South Korea, with a global expansion expected in the coming days. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is receiving firmware version F936NKSS6IYL1 (approximately 445 MB), while the Galaxy Z Flip 4 gets version F721NKSS6IYL1 (approximately 426 MB). As is typical for these monthly patches, the update focuses purely on security fixes and system stability improvements rather than introducing new features.

Users can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Once the firmware is available for your device, a notification will prompt you to download and install it.

Looking ahead, Samsung has also confirmed that both the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are eligible for the upcoming One UI 8.5 upgrade. This next major interface version is expected to bring significant improvements to the UI, performance, and overall user experience, marking the next major milestone in the lifecycle of these foldable devices.
