Fresh off the One UI 8.5 rollout, Samsung is already shifting its focus to its next-generation custom interface: One UI 9.0. Recent server data reveals that the popular mid-range Galaxy A35 has officially entered the testing phase for the new software.

Specifically, a new firmware build tailored for the Galaxy A35 was spotted on Samsung's servers, carrying the version number A356EXXU9EZF1. Based on the South Korean tech giant's internal naming conventions, this specific letter sequence indicates a major leap to One UI 9.0, rather than a minor security patch. For users of this mid-ranger, it means the next major update is just around the corner.

Unlike One UI 8.5, which runs on Android 16 QPR2, One UI 9.0 is built entirely on the upcoming Android 17 OS. Alongside Google's core improvements, Samsung is expected to deeply integrate a host of new screen personalization options, performance tweaks, and exclusive smart features tailored for its Galaxy ecosystem.

Samsung previously teased One UI 9.0 by opening a limited beta program for its flagship Galaxy S26 series. If the current roadmap holds, the stable release will officially debut alongside the next-generation foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8—slated for launch next month. Immediately following the event, the company plans to kick off a massive, phased rollout across all eligible devices.
