Samsung has just released the details for its March 2026 security patch intended for Galaxy devices. While the update hasn't officially seen a wide release yet, the company has confirmed that this month’s Security Maintenance Release (SMR) tackles 67 known vulnerabilities related to both Android and Samsung's One UI.
According to Samsung's security bulletin, the incoming patch integrates 60 Android-specific fixes sourced from Google and its development partners, alongside 7 custom patches dedicated to One UI. In total, 67 security flaws are being addressed across Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
The severity of the patched vulnerabilities ranges from moderate to critical. Notably, there are 8 critical vulnerabilities found within the Android operating system, some of which could potentially be exploited to gain remote access to a device if left unpatched. The remaining Android fixes address high-severity flaws impacting the operating system's core components.
On the One UI side, the 7 listed Security Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) include two high-severity flaws that could allow a local attacker to perform unauthorized activities, specifically concerning Secure Folder permissions and Settings access. Additionally, Samsung is addressing three moderate-severity vulnerabilities related to Font Settings, the Settings menu, and Theme Manager.
The specifics of the remaining two patches have not been disclosed. This is a common industry practice designed to minimize the risk of malicious exploitation before users have the opportunity to install the update.
Samsung has stated that the March 2026 patch will begin rolling out soon. Users can proactively check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it isn't available yet, simply check back in a few days.
