Samsung is widening the net for its One UI 8.5 Beta program, bringing the much-anticipated update to more mid-range devices. Following the Galaxy A35 and A55, the Galaxy A54 is the latest to get a taste of the new interface, with the rollout officially kicking off in India.
Weighing in at a hefty 2.7GB, this beta release (firmware ending in ZZD5) comes bundled with the April 2026 security patch. This move comes as no surprise, given the device was spotted on test servers with a beta build earlier this month.
However, the news isn't as promising for Galaxy A34 owners. With no test builds surfacing so far, it’s highly likely the device will be left out of the beta phase. The upcoming Galaxy A56 is also reportedly off the testing roster. This positions the A35, A54, and A55 as the exclusive A-series models slated for a beta run before the stable release hits the public.
As always, Samsung’s beta initiative is designed to crowdsource bug reports and gather user feedback, ensuring a polished final product. Users can expect several successive beta updates as the company irons out the kinks.
For Galaxy A54 users in eligible regions eager to take One UI 8.5 for a spin, registration is straightforward via the Samsung Members app. Once enrolled, the update will arrive over-the-air. You can check for it manually by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
A quick word of caution, though: beta software is inherently unstable. Be sure to back up your critical data before taking the plunge to avoid any unwelcome surprises.
