After being upgraded to One UI 8 (Android 16) in October, many Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra users are starting to wonder if their devices will receive any new updates. The good news is that Samsung hasn't abandoned this 2022 flagship line yet.

Following the company's software update tradition, One UI 8.5 will be the last feature update for the Galaxy S22. Although there won't be any major changes to the interface, One UI 8.5 still promises to bring many small but useful improvements, optimized performance, and overall experience, similar to, even smoother than the previous One UI 8.

One UI 8.5 is expected to launch with the Galaxy S26 series in late February 2026. If Samsung keeps its usual rollout pace, Galaxy S22 users can expect the new update around April 2026. This will be the final feature upgrade, ending the four-year journey of continuous software upgrades for this series.

After that, Samsung will switch to releasing security patches instead of new interface updates. Currently, the Galaxy S22 still receives monthly patches, but from 2026 onwards, the cycle will be reduced to once a quarter.

However, users can still rest assured because Samsung will continue to maintain security updates until at least the end of 2026, helping the Galaxy S22 stay safe and stable for a long time.
