Tech giants Samsung and Google have officially unveiled the final design for their highly anticipated "Intelligent Eyewear." In a strategic move to take artificial intelligence beyond the smartphone screen, the companies have partnered with iconic eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Powered by the all-new Android XR operating system, the device is positioned as a daily fashion accessory rather than a bulky piece of tech. Samsung has meticulously refined the frames to ensure a comfortable, seamless fit around the forehead and ears. Consumers can choose between two distinct aesthetics: the Gentle Monster edition offers a modern, minimalist look with softly curved black frames, while the Warby Parker version features an elegant brown tone.

Under the hood, the smart glasses pack a punch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor. Discreetly integrated into the lightweight frames are a camera system, microphones, external speakers, and a force-sensor touch strip. Beyond touch or voice commands, the eyewear connects seamlessly with the wider Galaxy ecosystem—including the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch 9 or newer—allowing for intuitive gesture controls.

The true soul of the Intelligent Eyewear lies in its ability to see and understand real-world context, driven by Google's Gemini AI. Through its first-person camera, the glasses act as a hands-free assistant: automatically summarizing messages, translating conversations in real-time, or capturing meeting whiteboards and posters to save directly to Samsung Notes.

Out on the streets, the AI can identify landmarks, provide turn-by-turn navigation, and answer follow-up questions about the user's surroundings. The glasses also support sharing a live first-person view during video calls and sync seamlessly across everyday apps like Google Maps, Google Translate, Spotify, and YouTube Music.

In terms of battery life, the device delivers up to 9 hours of mixed usage on a single charge. The accompanying charging case doubles as a power bank, providing up to seven additional full charges.

The Intelligent Eyewear is slated to hit shelves before the end of the year. For users needing prescription lenses, Samsung will offer custom lens options directly at the time of pre-order.
