The Galaxy S26 Ultra may retain the same 5,000mAh battery capacity as its predecessor, but it will receive a significant upgrade in charging speed. A leaked One UI 8.5 firmware has confirmed that the device supports 60W fast charging, instead of 45W like on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Information about the increased charging capacity appeared a few days ago. X user @erenylmaz075 recently discovered lines of code related to charging capacity in the system file, confirming that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a faster charging speed.
Although the battery capacity remains unchanged, increasing the charging speed is a practical solution to shorten waiting time and improve the daily usage experience without affecting the overall design. Samsung seems to be aiming for a balance between performance, battery life, and appearance.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to be thinner than the previous generation, with a thickness of less than 7mm and a lighter weight. The camera cluster will also be significantly upgraded, including a completely new main sensor, along with a new generation 3x telephoto lens and 5x periscope.
Combined with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor that has been confirmed in the same firmware, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is gradually revealing itself as the outstanding flagship model that users can expect in the early stages of next year.
