Samsung has officially released a robust update to the Home Up app within its Good Lock suite, delivering deep customization capabilities for devices running the newly minted One UI 9.0.

Now available on the Galaxy Store exclusively for Android 17 devices, this upgrade goes beyond simple compatibility. It focuses heavily on revamping the home screen's aesthetics and streamlining user controls.

According to the tech giant, the latest rollout introduces a host of notable improvements:

  • Comprehensive Compatibility: Fully supported and optimized for the One UI 9.0 experience.

  • Smart Layouts: A new feature that automatically organizes the home screen to match your personal style.

  • Intuitive Interactions: Enables quick, engaging interactions via stickers.

  • Taskbar Personalization: Users can now set custom backgrounds for the Edge panel and bottom taskbar, complete with adjustable opacity, drop shadows, and rounded corners.

  • Advanced Multi-Touch Gestures: A powerful system allowing two- to five-finger swipes to trigger 27 different quick actions, creating up to 36 unique gesture combinations.

This new multi-touch gesture system is a standout feature for daily usability. For example, users can swipe down with three fingers to instantly capture a screenshot, or pinch with five fingers to snap back to the home screen. To ensure the experience feels fluid, the app allows for deep tweaking of gesture sensitivity, glow effects, haptic feedback, and transition animations.

Smartly, these gestures are automatically disabled when the virtual keyboard is open to prevent frustrating typos. However, they remain fully active during full-screen gaming or video playback, ensuring uninterrupted control when you need it most.
