As the beta testing phase for Android 17 enters its final stretch, Samsung is actively ironing out remaining software bugs. The tech giant has successfully resolved compatibility issues for two major display customization modules, NavStar and LockStar, ensuring a smoother experience on the upcoming One UI 9.0 platform.

The latest NavStar update (version 9.0.00.11) completely restores custom navigation buttons and gesture controls. Previously, deep source code changes in the new operating system caused the utility to crash on the Galaxy S26 series. This patch is now rolling out globally for users to download.

Meanwhile, the lock screen customization tool, LockStar, has been bumped to version 9.0.00.5. This update fixes an issue where app icons were grayed out and disabled. Notably, it also introduces a new unlock transition effect specifically designed for flip covers. This addition strongly hints at Samsung’s ongoing focus on optimizing displays for flexible screens and foldable accessories.

Beta testers can activate these new features by refreshing their update list in the Galaxy Store or by downloading them directly through the Good Lock management menu.

This follows recent patches to other popular customization modules, including ClockFace, MultiStar, and RegiStar, making them fully compatible with the new software.

So far, Samsung has successfully fixed five out of the eight modules that were rendered obsolete when the new OS beta launched in May. The remaining three—Game Booster+, Home Up, and NotiStar—are expected to be fully patched just in time for the official One UI 9.0 release, which is slated to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in the coming weeks.
