Following last week's rollout of the One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, Samsung is officially setting its sights on the Galaxy S24 lineup. Recent activity on the company's internal servers has revealed the first beta build for the older flagship series, sporting a firmware version ending in 'ZZCB'. Historically, the appearance of internal builds with this naming convention signals that a public beta release is just days or weeks away.

Samsung has been fine-tuning One UI 8.5 since late 2025. While the newly released Galaxy S26 series debuted with the stable version out of the box, the S25 lineup has undergone an extensive seven-beta testing phase. Now, even as the S25 continues to receive minor beta updates, Samsung is shifting essential resources to bring the previous generation up to speed.

The upcoming beta program will likely follow Samsung's traditional rollout strategy, meaning it will be limited to familiar test markets. These typically include India, South Korea, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra owners in these regions should keep a close eye on the Samsung Members app in the coming days for official registration notices.

Meanwhile, the stable public release of One UI 8.5 is projected to begin rolling out later this month or early next month. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be first in line, followed by a broader expansion to other eligible Galaxy devices.
