Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the first devices to run One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box. The two new foldable phones are expected to be introduced in the first half of July at the upcoming Unpacked event.

This information was announced at the same time as Samsung launched the One UI 8 Beta testing program for the Galaxy S25 series in the US, Germany, Korea, and the UK. In the official announcement, the company said that the stable version of One UI 8 will be released with the latest foldable phone line this summer, then gradually be deployed to other eligible Galaxy devices.

Although Samsung did not directly mention the Galaxy Z Flip 7 or Fold 7, based on the product schedule and annual release cycle, it is almost certain that these are the two devices the company is referring to.

Samsung also thanked Google for its close collaboration on One UI 8. Sharing design principles and real-time technical feedback between the two parties has significantly accelerated the software development process. As a result, One UI 8 is one of the first interfaces optimized for Android 16.

Currently, the One UI 8 Beta program is being rolled out for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Samsung is expected to expand the testing program to more devices in the coming weeks. We will continue to update as more information becomes available on the One UI 8 roadmap.
