Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will receive the stable One UI 8 update in September. It is worth noting that although it is not participating in the Beta testing program, the Galaxy S25 Edge is still likely to be on the deployment roadmap along with the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
An internal One UI 8 build for the Galaxy S25 Edge with the code BYH7 has just appeared online, along with the September 2025 security patch. This is considered a clear sign that Samsung has almost completed the software optimization process for this thin and light flagship model, ready for official release.
Previously, the One UI 8 Beta program started at the end of May for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, and so far, there have been 5 test versions focusing on bug fixes and performance improvements. This will most likely be the final test step before the stable version is released. Despite not participating in the Beta, the Galaxy S25 Edge is still guaranteed to be upgraded to Android 16 in September, possibly at the same time or close to the rollout for the main flagship trio.
Leaked information from X account @RydahDoesTech further reinforces this belief, as the image shows the Galaxy S25 Edge running One UI 8 with the unreleased BYH7 build. Even if this is not the final version, the appearance of a build with the September security patch proves that Samsung is ready for the upcoming major update.
Meanwhile, Samsung is also expanding the One UI 8 Beta program to many other devices, including the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6, and is preparing to add the Galaxy S23 and some other models. Given the current progress, it is likely that the stable update for these devices will start in October.
