Samsung has almost completed its One UI 7 update journey. Based on the analysis of the software support policy and recent deployment progress, there are currently only three Galaxy devices that have not received this update: Galaxy M05, Galaxy F05, and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro. All three are expected to be upgraded in July, paving the way for One UI 8 to officially launch in August.

One UI 7 is coming to an end

Based on Android 15, One UI 7 has encountered many delays in the deployment process due to various reasons. After a long wait, Samsung has just started releasing the update widely since early April this year. However, the process was temporarily interrupted due to errors, before being restored at the end of April.

To date, Samsung has updated a series of Galaxy devices in many different price segments to One UI 7. If counting each model separately, the number has exceeded 70 devices.

If we look at the list of eligible devices (based on Samsung's software policy, not the official list), there are only three models that have not been updated yet: Galaxy M05, F05, and XCover 6 Pro. These three models are also expected to complete the upgrade in July, marking the end of the One UI 7 rollout.

Focus shifts to One UI 8

This also means that the tech world is starting to turn its attention to One UI 8, Samsung's next major update based on Android 16. Currently, the Galaxy S25 series is the first to join the beta testing program.

Samsung is expected to release a stable version in early August. The trio of new foldable devices, including Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE, also comes pre-installed with One UI 8 out of the box. If the current progress is maintained, Samsung could complete the One UI 8 update for all eligible devices by 2025.
