Samsung has just released the August 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S25 series running One UI 7. The update has already started rolling out in South Korea and will soon be expanded to other markets. Meanwhile, those who participated in the One UI 8 beta program (based on Android 16) recently received beta 4 with the July patch.
Currently, the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra is being rolled out in India, South Korea, Germany, Poland, the UK, and the US. Samsung has also confirmed its plans to release the official version in September. Until then, users in other regions and not in the beta program will continue to receive regular security updates.
In South Korea, the August patch for the Galaxy S25 series has the firmware version AYG6. Some users shared screenshots showing that the OTA update package size on the Ultra version is up to nearly 550MB. Depending on the version and region, the build code and size may vary, but the update content will be the same globally.
This August security patch includes 47 vulnerabilities, including a serious bug related to the Android operating system and many security issues related to Galaxy devices. Samsung is expected to continue releasing this patch to many other smartphone and tablet models in the coming days. Previously, the Galaxy A56 had started receiving this update in some regions.
To check and update the software, users can go to the Settings app, select Software update, then tap Download and install. If an update is available, the device will display a notification and step-by-step installation instructions. After the download is complete, the phone will need to restart to complete the update process.
