The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A57 is poised to become the first A-series smartphone to feature Transcript Assist, a standout AI tool previously reserved for the company's flagship devices.
Originally introduced alongside the Galaxy S24 as part of the Galaxy AI suite, Transcript Assist automatically converts voice recordings and phone calls into text. While Samsung has since trickled down select Galaxy AI features to older models and some A5x mid-rangers, Transcript Assist had notably remained exclusive to higher-end tiers.
That is expected to change soon. Recent leaks showcasing the A57’s retail packaging and user interface strongly suggest the inclusion of the feature. If accurate, it marks a significant milestone: the first system-level speech-to-text integration on a Galaxy A device.
The A57 appears to be fast approaching its official launch. The handset has already been spotted in retail stores in Thailand, accompanied by a wave of unboxing videos surfacing online.
Beyond its new AI capabilities, the phone reportedly boasts several design and hardware upgrades. Rumored specs point to a larger cooling system, a robust 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, and the new Samsung Exynos 1680 chipset.
Bringing Transcript Assist to the A57 represents a strategic move by Samsung to democratize its Galaxy AI suite, bolstering its competitiveness in the fiercely contested upper-mid-range Android market.
