Initially rolled out as an exclusive feature for the Galaxy S26 series, it allows users to seamlessly send files to iPhones, iPads, or Macs. The lingering question, however, has been whether older devices would receive the same treatment—and we finally have an answer.

Samsung is now actively expanding this cross-platform capability to older lineups, including the Galaxy S22, S23, S24, S25, and Z Fold 7. Rather than waiting for a full operating system overhaul, users are receiving the feature through targeted updates to the Quick Share app and its related modules. While this bypasses the need for a massive OS update, early hands-on experiences suggest the implementation is still a work in progress.

According to user reports, a new "Share with Apple devices" option has begun appearing within Quick Share following the latest updates. However, the rollout appears heavily fragmented. Even for those who have successfully activated the option, functionality remains spotty: nearby Apple devices frequently fail to show up, and Samsung phones are glaringly absent from Apple's AirDrop radars.

Adding to the confusion, some users note the feature only surfaces after a series of additional updates spanning firmware, Google Play System, and Google Play Services. This indicates that cross-platform sharing relies on a complex web of under-the-hood system components rather than a simple, standalone app update.

All signs currently point to a gradual, server-side rollout by Samsung, rather than a sweeping global release. This explains the glaring disparities in user experience across identical software versions. Moving forward, the tech giant is expected to push further refinements, ironing out the compatibility wrinkles to ensure a stable, seamless sharing experience across the Samsung-Apple divide.
