Samsung is officially widening the net for its July security update, with several mid-range Galaxy A series devices joining the rollout today.

According to SammyGuru, the South Korean tech giant is accelerating the deployment of its July Security Maintenance Release (SMR) to popular mid-tier phones. The latest wave includes the Galaxy A15 5G, A26, A33, and A54 across key global markets.

The rollout is currently progressing in phases. Galaxy A33 users in Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand and the Philippines, are now receiving firmware version A336EDXSJGZG3. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A54 update (firmware A546SKSS1FZG1) has kicked off in Samsung’s home market of South Korea and is expected to reach other regions next week. Additionally, the Galaxy A26 has also picked up its update (A266MUBSACZG1) in Latin America.

While this update doesn't introduce new features or user interface tweaks, it remains a crucial installation that users shouldn't skip. The July SMR directly patches 57 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and their hardware partners.

To keep their devices secure, owners of the aforementioned models should proactively check for the update. Simply navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. For a smooth installation process, ensure your device has sufficient battery life and isn't overheating before starting the download.
