Samsung is gearing up for the official release of One UI 8 based on Android 16. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will be the first devices to come pre-installed with the interface when sold. In parallel, the company is also testing One UI 8 on a series of other devices, including the Galaxy A15, A16, A36, M56, Tab S10 Ultra, and most recently the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S24 FE series.

According to Akhilesh Kumar on X, the One UI 8 software version with code S906BXXUFGYG1 has begun internal testing for the Galaxy S22 series. This is the last major Android update for this series, which launched with Android 12 and One UI 4.1. However, the Galaxy S22 will continue to receive the One UI 8.5 update scheduled for release early next year, along with another year of security updates.

At the same time, the Galaxy S24 FE was also found running the internal One UI 8 test version. According to Tarun Vats, the software code being tested is S721BXXU6CYG1. This shows that Samsung is ready to bring the Android 16 update to both new and old devices in the near future.

One UI 8 is expected to bring many notable improvements in user experience. Although it does not change the interface as strongly as One UI 7, this update promises to focus on smart features and optimizing system performance.
