Shortly after launching the new generation of foldable screens, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, Samsung has begun rolling out the July 2025 security update for its predecessors, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Currently, users in Korea have started receiving the new patch, and other markets are expected to be updated in the near future.

This is the July regular security update (SMR), which includes 40 patches for vulnerabilities related to the Android operating system, One UI service, and Exynos processor. Previously, Samsung began releasing this update for the Galaxy S25 and S24 series, and now it is the turn of the 2024 foldable screen devices.

Specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in Korea are receiving updates with software code F956NKSS2BYFC and F741NKSS2BYFC, respectively. The update focuses on security fixes only, not adding new features.

Both devices are still on a long-term support roadmap, with six Android OS updates and six years of security updates. Samsung is also currently accelerating the development of One UI 8 based on Android 16, which is expected to be officially released in the next few months.
