Samsung has just released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A06, a budget smartphone launched last year. This is the first major Android upgrade for the device, marking a notable step forward in interface and features after nearly a year of launch.
Currently, the new update is only available for the Galaxy A06 LTE version in some Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The firmware has the code A065FXXU4BYF6, is about 3GB in size, and comes with the May 2025 security patch. Users can check and download it in Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The Galaxy A06 comes pre-installed with Android 14 when it goes on sale in August 2024. According to Samsung's commitment, the device will receive two major Android updates and four years of security patches. Thus, users can expect to continue receiving Android 16 in the near future.
New features in One UI 7.0 (Android 15) for Galaxy A06 include:
• Refreshed user interface, separate notification panel and quick panel, full-screen pill-shaped notification icon, notifications from the same app will be stacked
• More modern system app icons, smooth transition effects, refreshed battery icon, and charging effect
• “Now Bar” bar appears to display ongoing activities such as live sports scores, stopwatch, timer…
• Home screen supports better horizontal display, adds large folders, many new widgets, and easy widget and label customization
• Camera app improves interface for convenient one-handed use, advanced zoom control and filters, improves Pro and Pro Video modes, adds grid and level line
• Video player shows playback button when finished watching, Smart Select suggests smart actions based on selected content, apps, Weather can be rated ideal for outdoor activities, adding the ability to label locations
• Photo and video editor supports free-form collage creation, including in Stories; Samsung Health adds mental health tracking and new badges
• When opening multiple pop-ups from the same app, the windows are grouped into the app icon and can be previewed when tapped
• Group alarms, customize individual alarm volumes, easily reset events in Calendar, and move entire events from one account to another
• Create reminders faster, support for selecting multiple repeat days, delete all completed reminders, and quickly duplicate reminders
• New file picker for easier preview and upload, Modes and Routines with new conditions and options, support for If-Else logic, using variables, and increased control over battery protection and charging
