The next few days are going to be exciting for Samsung fans. The new foldable phones are about to go on sale and start shipping to pre-orderers. This also means that Galaxy S25 users can soon experience Android 16 through the stable One UI 8 update. Currently, One UI 8 is only available as a beta for the Galaxy S25 series, and the S25 Edge hasn't even been tested yet.

So, when will the Galaxy S25 get the official update?

First of all, here's something interesting: no Samsung flagship has ever received a major One UI update so quickly after launch. If the Galaxy S25 gets One UI 8 in the coming weeks, it will be the first major update in about six months for Samsung – since the series launched with One UI 7 in January.

Based on recent indications, the stable One UI 8 update could start rolling out by the end of July. Now that we’re in the middle of the month, that shouldn’t be too far off. However, as usual, Samsung will roll out the update on a region-by-region basis. It’s likely that South Korea will get it first, followed by the US and other countries in the days that follow.

If everything goes as expected, Galaxy S25 users in the US could get One UI 8 as early as the first week of August. But if Samsung wants to keep things a secret, it’s possible that the update could be rolled out more widely before the end of July.

In fact, Samsung has been rumored to be testing a stable build internally, and it was even leaked not too long ago. So, everything is almost ready. Galaxy S25 users are just one step away from Android 16.
