Samsung is gearing up to launch its next generation of smartwatches, and they will likely arrive with a brand-new interface. Ahead of the official release, the South Korean tech giant inadvertently leaked a new health tracking feature, hinting at an imminent beta release for older devices.

According to a recent notification within the Samsung Health app in the US, the company is phasing out its "vascular burden" measurement. In its place, a new "blood pressure trend tracking" tool will debut on upcoming wearables, including the rumored Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2. Most notably, the notice explicitly states this feature will be integrated directly into the One UI 9 Watch operating system this very month.

Based on this timeline, these health feature tweaks will take effect by late July. If Samsung sticks to its usual software update playbook, this is exactly when we can expect the company to open up the One UI 9 Watch beta program for users of previous smartwatch models. This new wearable OS is built on Google's recently introduced Wear OS 7 platform.

Samsung has already been busy overhauling the Samsung Health app, giving it a more modern look and packing it with deeper fitness and wellness features. Tech enthusiasts are hopeful that the One UI 9 Watch beta program will soon be available for those sporting the Galaxy Watch 8 and the original Watch Ultra.
