The Galaxy A56 was launched by Samsung in many markets in March, at the same time as the Galaxy A36 and A26. In the US, the device has not appeared yet, but Samsung confirmed that it will be released this year. In the meantime, the company has quietly started testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy A56.

According to the sharing from the account Akhilesh Kumar on the X platform, the One UI 8 software version based on Android 16 for the Galaxy A56 is being tested internally with the build code A566BXXU4BYF7. This is a clear signal that Samsung is preparing for the next major software update for this device.

Based on the software code, it can be determined that this is the version for the international market. When the Galaxy A56 is released in the US, the device will have a different code, such as SM A566U or SM A566U1.

Currently, One UI 8 is only available in beta testing for three models of the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung has rolled out two betas, expanding the scope to more regions. However, no models outside the S25 series have participated yet, including the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, it is likely that other devices will soon be added in the next beta, which is expected to start this week.

The One UI 8 update brings many notable improvements, from the interface to the features. The current betas have shown off a part of the new experience, while the stable version, expected to be released next month, will further improve performance and features.

In addition, Samsung also plans to release the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 with One UI 8 pre-installed. If recent rumors are correct, we may see the appearance of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE at the same event. This will definitely be one of the most notable technology events in the near future.
