While high-end devices are still waiting for the official update of One UI 8, Samsung has started speeding up internal testing for various models. Recently, three devices, including Galaxy M06 5G, Galaxy F06 5G, and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite have officially joined the internal One UI 8 testing phase, based on the Android 16 platform.

The information was revealed by leaker Mohammed Khatri, who discovered three build codes being tested by Samsung:

  • Galaxy M06 5G: M066BXXU3BYG7
  • Galaxy F06 5G: E066BXXU3BYG7
  • Galaxy Tab S6 Lite: P625XXU5CYG6

This is an important step in the development of One UI 8, but the official release date for users will still take a few more weeks.

Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are the first devices to come pre-installed with One UI 8 out of the box. In addition, Samsung has also launched a beta program for the Galaxy S25 series with four test updates, of which the fourth beta version is expected to be the final version before widespread release.

The Galaxy M06 5G and F06 5G are both new models launched earlier this year with One UI 7 pre-installed. Although they are in the low-cost segment, both are committed to software support by Samsung for more than 4 years, a big plus in terms of long-term use value. Notably, when the duo was launched, many high-end models such as the Galaxy S24 had not yet been updated to One UI 7.

The fact that Samsung has included both old devices like the Tab S6 Lite and new low-cost models in the One UI 8 testing list shows that the company is rapidly expanding the Android 16 update process for the Galaxy ecosystem. This is definitely a positive signal for users who are waiting for performance upgrades, AI features and a smoother interface from the new One UI version.
