Perplexity AI may not be as popular as Gemini or ChatGPT, but the platform is gaining traction for its ability to answer questions in real time rather than relying on static data. Perplexity's interface resembles a search engine and is capable of providing clear, quick answers. According to some recent sources, Samsung may be considering bringing Perplexity AI to Galaxy devices, becoming a third virtual assistant alongside Bixby and Gemini.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Lenovo has signed a partnership with Perplexity to integrate this AI assistant into its next-generation smartphone line. Lenovo's sub-brand Motorola will hold an event on April 24 to launch the Moto Razr 2025 line. Instead of using Google Gemini, these devices will integrate Perplexity AI with an interface optimized for the Razr's signature secondary screen.

Notably, the report also revealed that Perplexity is in talks with Samsung to bring its AI to Galaxy devices. However, these are only preliminary discussions; no formal agreement has been signed. If the partnership is successful, Perplexity could be distributed by Samsung through the Galaxy Store or pre-installed on some devices, but the possibility of replacing Gemini as the default assistant is very low due to the current level of integration of Gemini into the One UI interface.

Samsung currently has a strategic partnership with Google in the field of software and AI features. Therefore, choosing a new partner like Perplexity may not bring many obvious benefits to the company. However, Perplexity has a notable advantage: flexible support for many different AI models, such as Anthropic and OpenAI.

It is likely that if an agreement is reached, Samsung will only use Perplexity for a few secondary features under the name Galaxy AI, instead of comprehensive integration like Bixby or Gemini. Still, the presence of a new AI like Perplexity could open up more options for Galaxy users in the future.
