Samsung is gearing up for the official launch of One UI 8 based on Android 16. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will be the first devices to launch with the new software version, several other models are also scheduled to receive the update, with the Galaxy A15 being the latest to enter the testing phase.

According to leaked information from the user community, Samsung has started internally testing the One UI 8 build for the Galaxy A15 with the software code A156EDXU5DYF1. This is a sign that the development process is on track, and users may soon experience Android 16 sooner than expected, possibly as early as August or early September.

The Galaxy A15 launches with Android 14 and is part of Samsung's commitment to upgrade 4 major operating system versions. This means the device will receive major updates up to Android 18 and One UI 10 in 2027 or 2028, a rare support policy in the low-cost segment.

Although not too different in terms of interface, One UI 8 focuses on upgrading the user experience through a series of notable improvements such as splitting the screen in a 90:10 ratio, adding new options in Routine mode, flexible live wallpapers, and many performance tweaks to help the device run smoother.

Meanwhile, Samsung is also expanding the One UI 8 beta testing program, with three test updates currently released for the Galaxy S25 series. It is still unclear whether the Galaxy A15 will be included in the beta program, but with the current progress, the official update will not be far away.
