Samsung Electronics has officially confirmed plans to bring Google Photos to its lineup of TVs and Smart Monitors, aiming to reshape the entertainment experience in the living room. The tech giant is also set to introduce advanced creative features powered by "Gemini Nano Banana" AI.
According to the announcement, the Google Photos integration will arrive via a software update in early 2026. This feature allows users to access their cloud-stored libraries directly on the big screen with a cinematic interface. To make revisiting memories more intuitive, content will be intelligently curated by moments, people, and places.
The rollout will debut with Samsung’s new 2026 TV models early in the year, followed by an expansion to select older models starting in March 2026. Samsung emphasizes that this is more than just a simple display app; the company intends to deeply embed Google Photos into the TV’s architecture through its "Vision AI Companion." This system will contextually suggest personal photos and videos, displaying them on dashboards like Daily+ and Daily Board throughout the day.
In the second half of 2026, Samsung plans to elevate the experience further by introducing generative and editing tools powered by Gemini Nano Banana. Users will be able to generate new images, apply artistic styles via a "Remix" feature, or even animate static photos into short videos—all directly from their TV.
The integration also brings automated, thematic slideshows to the big screen. Whether it is a beach vacation, family portraits, pets, or specific travel destinations, the TV will seamlessly curate these collections, offering a highly personalized viewing experience.
Kevin Lee, EVP of Visual Display at Samsung, highlighted the emotional core of this update. He noted that while Samsung TVs are designed to connect people, bringing Google Photos to the large display makes that connection even more intimate. Through this partnership, Samsung aims to help users rediscover and relive their most cherished moments right in the center of their daily lives.
With the arrival of Google Photos and the upcoming Gemini AI capabilities, Samsung TVs are steadily evolving beyond traditional display devices, positioning themselves as the new heart of family entertainment and digital memories.
