SEOUL — Samsung has officially rolled out the beta version of its One UI 9 interface for the Galaxy S26 lineup. While the update’s changelog may not appear massive at first glance, early adopters have already uncovered a subtle yet highly valuable improvement: a unified call log that integrates standard cellular calls with internet-based voice traffic.

Specifically, the default Samsung Phone app can now display call histories from popular messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Google Meet. This seamless integration is powered by a core capability newly developed by Google for the Android 17 operating system. Because One UI 9 is built upon this fresh Android foundation, Galaxy devices will naturally inherit the syncing feature. The tool currently works flawlessly with WhatsApp and Google Meet, though Telegram users are waiting on future app updates for full compatibility.

The system automatically enables this synchronization the moment users upgrade their software. However, those who prefer a traditional, uncluttered call log without third-party app interference can easily opt out. By navigating to the Samsung Phone app’s settings, users can find a dedicated management section for third-party calling apps and toggle off integration for specific services with a single tap.

Google previously teased this unified functionality during the initial Android 17 beta launch. Industry expectations point to all smartphones upgrading to the new OS eventually receiving this call-merging tool. As the software rolls out more broadly in the near future, the roster of third-party apps supporting call history synchronization is poised to expand significantly.
