The Galaxy S26 lineup is rumored to follow a slightly different schedule compared to previous generations. According to the latest leaks, Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy S26 on February 25, a date that pushes past the S series’ usual early-year timeline. However, getting your hands on the device might happen sooner than initially thought.
A report from Dealabs indicates that the Galaxy S26 will officially hit shelves in Europe on March 11. To be clear, this is the date customers can walk into a store and purchase the device, not just the start of pre-orders. Dealabs suggests this retail schedule will likely apply to other global markets as well, while further corroborating the February 25 launch date that has been circulating in recent rumors.
For context, the Galaxy S25 was announced on January 22 but didn't go on sale until February 7. While the S26 is arriving later in the calendar, the gap between the keynote and retail availability appears to be shrinking. This tighter window means users won't have to wait as long to experience the product after the initial reveal.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to run exclusively on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, alongside slight camera upgrades and support for 60W wired charging. Meanwhile, the standard S26 and S26 Plus will likely continue the trend of using either Snapdragon or Exynos chips, depending on the region. As for battery life, the standard model is tipped to feature a 4,300mAh cell, while the Plus version is expected to maintain the 4,900mAh capacity of its predecessor.
All three models are rumored to support the APV video codec and a 24MP shooting option via Camera Assistant. This suggests Samsung is doubling down on practical imaging improvements and real-world experience rather than just chasing raw spec numbers.
If these leaks hold water, the Galaxy S26 marks a strategic shift: a later arrival, but a more aggressive sales approach tailored to compete in an increasingly crowded flagship market.
