Samsung is expanding its April 2026 security patch to a broader range of devices, bringing its mid-range lineup and more foldables into the fold. Following the initial flagship release, the Galaxy A55, A56, and Z Flip 7 are now officially receiving the update in select markets.
Specifically, the Galaxy A55 and A56 are picking up the new firmware in South Korea, carrying build numbers A556SKSS7CZC2 and A566SKSS6BZCG, respectively. A wider global rollout is expected in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the Z Flip 7 is finally getting its April patch, having been conspicuously absent from the earlier rollout that covered the Z Fold 7 and other foldables. Also launching first in South Korea, this update bears firmware version F766NKSS9AZCT, with an international release likely imminent.
The April 2026 security patch focuses primarily on plugging 47 vulnerabilities across the Android OS, One UI, and various system components, bringing no major feature additions. It follows recent updates for high-end devices like the Galaxy S26, S25, Z Fold 7, and the newly released Z TriFold.
Looking ahead, rumors suggest the Galaxy A55 might soon join the One UI 8.5 Beta program in certain regions. Test builds have recently been spotted on internal servers, indicating that trials are well underway. The Galaxy A56, however, has yet to show any concrete signs of beta participation.
How to update: Users can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install, and follow the on-screen prompts once the notification appears.
