Samsung is inching closer to the final release of One UI 8.5, rolling out Beta 7 for the Galaxy S25 series. Marking the seventh testing phase for the 2025 flagship lineup, this is highly likely to be one of the final hurdles before the stable version drops.
Currently live in India, South Korea, and select other markets, the update is expected to hit beta testers in the US shortly.
Carrying the firmware version ZZC7, the update weighs in at nearly 1GB, depending on your region and specific device model. Interestingly, despite being the seventh iteration of the beta, this software package still features the February 2026 security patch rather than March's. However, recent reports indicate that Samsung has already begun internal testing for the stable One UI 8.5 build—complete with the March patch—suggesting the official launch is right around the corner.

On the surface, Beta 7 is all about bug squashing. The changelog is extensive, with Samsung addressing roughly ten distinct issues. Fixes cover a wide range of system functions, including the proximity sensor, Dark Mode, the Gallery app, Samsung DeX, the Weather widget, Wi-Fi connectivity, Samsung Messages, and the notification system.
These under-the-hood tweaks are largely aimed at polishing overall system stability, minimizing any lingering glitches before the software goes public.
Barring any major show-stopping bugs in this final stretch, Beta 7 could very well be the last test run before Samsung officially pushes the stable update by late March 2026.
In the meantime, the tech giant is also expanding its beta program across its foldable portfolio, with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 recently getting their very first taste of the One UI 8.5 beta.
