The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2024 version has just been officially released by Samsung with a stable One UI 8 Watch software update. This is a major upgrade, built on the Wear OS 6 platform, previously launched with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 series.
Currently, Galaxy Watch Ultra users in the US have started receiving the update, specifically on AT&T and T-Mobile networks. It is expected that in the next few days, the update will continue to be released more widely. The update brings an improved user interface, a multi-utility Tile system, four new health features, and smoother performance.

The update has the software code L705USQU1BYFE, about 1.95GB in size. Although the release date in other markets is unknown, this is a positive sign that Samsung is accelerating the upgrade of smartwatches to the new platform.
If you're using a Galaxy Watch Ultra in the US, you can check for and update it by opening the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, going to Watch Settings, selecting Software Update, and tapping Download and Install. The installation process will take a few minutes, and the device will restart when complete.
Samsung is also rolling out the One UI 8 Watch Beta to the Galaxy Watch 7 series, suggesting that users of this series may soon experience Wear OS 6 in the near future.
