Samsung is steadily refining its Android 17-based One UI 9, and recent developments suggest the software has hit a major milestone. The Galaxy S26 Ultra was recently spotted on Geekbench running a new build, indicating that performance and stability testing has moved into a more advanced phase.
Previously, the company uploaded its first experimental One UI 9 build to internal servers, confirming development was officially underway. Now, the device's appearance on Geekbench signals a shift from strictly internal testing to real-world benchmark evaluations.
The benchmark results reveal a single-core score of 3,608 and a multi-core score of 10,829—numbers closely matching the device's performance on Android 16 and One UI 8.5. This performance parity suggests the new build has already achieved a solid baseline of stability, bringing it one step closer to a public beta.

Industry sources suggest Samsung could unveil One UI 9 alongside its next generation of foldables in July 2026. However, a public beta program will likely roll out even earlier for current flagship models.
In a related development, the upcoming Galaxy S26 FE has also surfaced on Geekbench running Android 17, hinting that the "Fan Edition" device could launch with One UI 9 out of the box.
Meanwhile, Samsung is still wrapping up the rollout of One UI 8.5 for its existing lineup. The update, which ships pre-installed on the Galaxy S26 series, is gradually expanding to older models, with a wider official release expected to kick off by late April.
