SEOUL — Samsung has officially started rolling out its July security update for a lineup of its foldable devices in South Korea, addressing 57 system vulnerabilities.

According to SamMobile, the latest patch is currently available for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Z Fold 4, and Z Flip 4. The software updates come with firmware versions F946NKSS6GZG3, F731NKSS6GZG4, F936NKSS8IZG2, and F721NKSS8IZG2, respectively.

This critical patch aims to resolve security risks found in previous builds, significantly boosting device stability and data protection. Following this domestic release, the South Korean tech giant is expected to expand the rollout globally in the coming days. International users can identify the update by looking for the same last four characters in their firmware versions.

Users will receive an automatic notification once the update hits their devices. Alternatively, readers can check manually by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Notably, this rollout highlights the diverging software support lifecycles between device generations. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 remain slated for the upcoming One UI 9.0 upgrade (based on Android 17). Meanwhile, the older Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 models have reached the end of their major OS update cycles and will not receive this future version.
