Samsung is kicking off the new year by deploying its first software update of 2026 for its latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Following an initial rollout for the Galaxy A34 and A55, the patch has now officially landed on the company's premium folding devices.
According to current reports, the January 2026 security patch is making its debut in South Korea. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 update arrives with firmware version F766NKSS7AYLT, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is receiving version F966NKSS7AYLT.
This update is strictly a maintenance release focusing on system integrity. It addresses a total of 55 security vulnerabilities found within the Android operating system, as well as specific software components developed by Samsung. While it does not introduce new features, this patch plays a critical role in ensuring data safety and device stability.
Users in South Korea can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Once downloaded, tapping "Install Now" will trigger a device restart to finalize the process.
Samsung is expected to expand availability to global markets over the coming days. Rollout timing can vary by region, so users outside of South Korea should sit tight if the notification hasn't appeared on their devices just yet.
