Samsung Ramps Up One UI 8.5 Development: New Mid-Range and Budget Models Join Internal Testing

Samsung is significantly accelerating preparations for One UI 8.5 across its entire device ecosystem. Following the release of the third One UI 8.5 Beta for the flagship Galaxy S25 series earlier this week, the tech giant has expanded its internal testing program to cover a wider range of models across various price segments. The latest devices spotted on the test servers include the Galaxy M35, A15 4G, A16 4G, and the entry-level A07 4G.

Regarding the Galaxy M35, Samsung has initiated internal testing in both India and Europe. The device surfaced on official servers sporting firmware build M356BXXU6DYL2. This follows the recent addition of the Galaxy M34 to the testing list, signaling a methodical rollout plan for the mid-range "M" series. However, it is worth noting that the appearance of these test builds merely reflects ongoing software development and does not necessarily indicate an imminent public release.

Concurrently, testing has kicked off for the 4G variants of the Galaxy A15 and A16, following earlier sightings of their 5G counterparts. The Galaxy A15 4G appeared on Samsung’s European servers with firmware version A155FXXU8EZA1, while the A16 4G was detected in Europe and Turkey carrying version A165FXXU7DZA5.

In a notable move, Samsung has also begun prepping One UI 8.5 for the budget-friendly Galaxy A07 4G. Originally launched with One UI 7 and subsequently updated to One UI 8, this model has now appeared on test servers in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand with firmware A075FXXU2CZA6. This demonstrates Samsung's commitment to extending testing to its affordable lineup.

Looking ahead, more test builds are expected to surface as One UI 8.5 nears completion. The rollout for eligible devices is projected to take place primarily before June of this year, with flagship and mid-range lines likely taking priority in the initial wave.
