Samsung officially stops software updates for these 5 "famous" Galaxy phone models

Samsung has just confirmed that it will end software support for a series of Galaxy devices, including its once-popular flagship and mid-range models. Among them are the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra trio, the phones that ushered in a new era for the high-end Galaxy series. From now on, users of these devices will no longer receive any security or operating system updates.

Not only the S20 series, two prominent mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72, have been officially removed from the list of updated devices. These were once pioneers in bringing high-end features such as high-refresh-rate screens, dual speakers, 5G connectivity, and fast charging to a more accessible price segment.

As for the Galaxy A52 5G, the Enterprise Edition is the version that has just stopped updating this time. Previously, the regular versions of the Galaxy A52, A52s, and A52 5G were discontinued early. However, the Galaxy A52 and A52s Enterprise Edition will continue to receive regular security patches in the near future.

Along with the above devices, the Galaxy A32 has also officially ended its software support. While the Galaxy S20 series has completed its 5-year update cycle, the mid-range models, such as the A32, A52, and A72 have ended after about 4 years. Samsung may still release a final update if it has been planned in advance, but these devices will basically no longer receive any official software support.

If you are using one of the above models and want to continue receiving OS updates, security patches, or new features, now is probably the right time to consider upgrading your device.
