Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE and Flip 6 receive February 2025 security update

Samsung continues to roll out the February 2025 security patch for Galaxy devices, and this time, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Fold SE, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 have started receiving the update in South Korea. This is a security-focused update that fixes many system vulnerabilities, rather than adding new features.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Fold SE were both launched in 2024 with notable improvements in the foldable phone line. Although the Galaxy Z Fold 6 does not have many major changes compared to the previous generation, it still has upgraded hardware to bring a better experience. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold SE is considered a thinner, lighter version with some adjustments in specifications. Both devices are currently receiving security updates with build numbers F956NKSS2AYAA for the Fold 6 and F958NKSS2AYAA for the Fold SE.

Along with that, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, a clamshell foldable phone, has also started receiving this patch. The device in Korea is receiving the update with build number F741NKSS2AYAA, which is about 400MB in size. After being deployed in Korea, the update will soon be released in many other markets in the near future.

The February 2025 security patch focuses on fixing up to 40 security vulnerabilities, of which Google contributed 36 fixes to Android, while Samsung added 4 patches related to Galaxy hardware and software. These vulnerabilities include issues related to ADB, Samsung Find security system, and many other important factors, making the device more secure.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE, and Flip 6 are still waiting for the Android 15-based One UI 7 update. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to receive the update in late February or early March, while the Galaxy S24 FE may have to wait until late March. Unfortunately, Samsung has not yet announced the official update schedule of One UI 7 for the latest foldable phones.
