Samsung is inching closer to the official launch of Samsung Internet for Windows, having just rolled out a beta version 29.0.0.146. This latest update brings two key usability enhancements and is expected to reach all testers over the coming days via the browser’s auto-update system.
Already a staple on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, Samsung Internet is praised for its clean interface and robust privacy tools. Samsung brought the browser to the desktop market in October 2025, launching a Windows beta in South Korea and the U.S. to bridge the gap in the Galaxy ecosystem.
The Windows port retains core mobile features to ensure a seamless cross-device experience. Notable inclusions are Smart Anti-Tracking, which blocks malicious cookies and trackers, and Split View, a multitasking feature that lets users view two web pages side-by-side or vertically.
To date, Samsung has pushed out seven beta updates for the Windows client, primarily focusing on bug fixes and performance optimization. Version 29.0.0.146, however, targets day-to-day usability. The update addresses sluggish shortcut icons on the "New Tab" page, ensuring they load instantly upon launch. It also improves text visibility within the search bar, making it easier for users to see what they are typing.
Updating is straightforward: navigate to the browser menu, select Settings, and click About Samsung Internet. The browser will automatically check for the update and prompt a restart if necessary. While Samsung hasn't confirmed a release date for the stable build, the rapid cadence of beta updates suggests an official launch is imminent.
