Samsung Galaxy S25 is about to receive its first major software update with many new features

While the Galaxy S25 series ships with One UI 7 out of the box, the software isn't quite ready yet. In fact, recent betas for the Galaxy S24 and a few other devices have revealed a number of new features and improvements that Samsung's latest flagships lack. The good news is that these changes are on their way to the Galaxy S25.

According to new information recorded on Samsung's servers, a One UI 7 build with the codename AYD1 for the Galaxy S25 has appeared, indicating that the company is preparing to release the first major update for the series. While there's no specific schedule yet, the appearance of this build is a clear sign that users won't have to wait much longer.

According to user X @theonecid, the Canadian version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra's software version is S938WVLU2AYD1. The “U2” in the number sequence confirms that this is a feature update, not just a regular security patch. At the same time, the number “2” indicates that this is the first upgrade of the bootloader – an important part of the system that helps ensure stability and security.

With the bootloader upgrade, users will not be able to go back to the old software version after the update. This is something to keep in mind if you want to test or roll back to previous builds.

In addition to new features, the upcoming update is expected to include the April security patch, which will help strengthen the device’s protection against potential vulnerabilities. Samsung has not yet officially announced the release date, but once the software has been uploaded to the server, the rollout process may be a matter of days.

Meanwhile, Samsung has confirmed that it will start rolling out the stable One UI 7 to the Galaxy S24 and other devices from April 7. It is likely that the Galaxy S25 will receive the new update at the same time or shortly after.

If you are using the Galaxy S25, pay attention to the Software Update section in the next few days to not miss this important upgrade. This is an update that promises to bring many improvements to the performance, interface, and overall experience of the device.
