Samsung is widening the net for its One UI 8.5 testing, moving beyond flagships to include its affordable smartphone lineup. The Galaxy A16 5G and A17 5G are the latest devices spotted on internal test servers, signaling that the major update won't be exclusive to premium models.

According to recent logs, the Galaxy A16 5G has surfaced on test servers in Europe and Turkey with firmware version A166BXXU5DYLD. Expansion to other regions is expected to follow shortly.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A17 5G is also undergoing One UI 8.5 testing across markets including India, Europe, and Turkey, identified by firmware A176BXXU3CYL5. While these are internal builds rather than public betas, they indicate that software development is progressing steadily.

This development follows earlier sightings of One UI 8.5 builds for other Galaxy A devices, such as the Galaxy A56, A55, and A36. Looking ahead, upcoming models like the Galaxy A57 and A37 are rumored to ship with One UI 8.5 out of the box next year. However, there are currently no signs of testing for the Galaxy M or Galaxy F series.

Samsung’s proactive approach to testing One UI 8.5 on entry-level Galaxy A phones highlights a clear strategy: democratizing software updates to ensure more users can access the latest features and refinements in the near future.
