Samsung is widening the scope of its One UI 9 testing to include mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones. The new operating system, built on Android 17, has recently surfaced on the company's internal testing servers for the Galaxy A57 and A17 5G.

Previously, the One UI 9 beta program was strictly limited to the flagship Galaxy S26 series in select major markets, such as the US. The appearance of test builds for the A-series indicates a strategic shift; Samsung is now actively optimizing the software for its more affordable tiers, rather than focusing exclusively on premium models.

While internal server logs don't guarantee a public beta release for these specific models, the premium mid-tier Galaxy A57 is highly likely to receive early access before the official rollout. At the very least, this development confirms that both devices are slated for the Android 17 upgrade.

According to recent leaks, Samsung will officially unveil One UI 9 alongside its next-generation foldable lineup on July 22. The highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 are expected to ship with the new software pre-installed, with a stable rollout for older devices to follow shortly after.
