Samsung is rounding out its April 2026 security updates, expanding the latest patch to the Galaxy S25 Edge and S25 FE. With this release, all five models in the S25 family are now officially up to date.
Following the initial rollout for the flagship S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, the remaining two variants are currently receiving the update in South Korea. A wider global release is expected to hit other markets in the coming days.
For those keeping track of the technical details, the Galaxy S25 FE update comes with firmware version S731NKSS6AZCH, while the S25 Edge gets S937NKSS7BZCH. You can manually check if your device is ready by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
As with typical monthly security patches, this update doesn't introduce flashy new features. Instead, it focuses heavily on under-the-hood improvements and system stability. Samsung notes that the April Security Maintenance Release (SMR) addresses a total of 47 vulnerabilities—ranging from moderate to critical—across Android, One UI, and various hardware components. Ultimately, it’s all about keeping your daily driver safe and running smoothly.
Looking ahead, Galaxy S25 owners can anticipate the official release of One UI 8.5, which is expected to drop later this month. While Samsung has run several beta testing phases for the S25, S25+, and Ultra, the Edge and FE models were excluded from the beta program, making this upcoming stable release their very first taste of the new software.
