Following the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung continues to release the October 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S24 series, bringing important fixes related to Android system security and Galaxy components. This is a regular update to increase the stability and security of the device, before expanding to other models in the coming days.

The first update was released in Thailand and will expand globally in the near future. Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra users will receive firmware version number CYJ1, with a capacity of about 455MB on the Ultra model. Similar to previous SMR (Security Maintenance Release) releases, this update focuses on bug fixes and security enhancements, without interface changes or new features.

According to Samsung, the October 2025 patch fixes a total of 34 security vulnerabilities, including critical issues in the Android kernel and Galaxy proprietary components. Although smaller in scale than some previous SMRs, this is still an important update that improves stability and privacy for users.

Users can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Note that the device needs to be running One UI 8 (Android 16) to receive this patch. Samsung has already rolled out One UI 8 to the entire Galaxy S24 series, paving the way for the One UI 8.5 upgrade, which is expected to launch in early 2026.

One UI 8.5 is currently in development, with a public beta expected to launch in late November. The new update will bring performance improvements, AI smart features, and system optimizations, and will be pre-installed on the Galaxy S26 series at launch.
