Samsung is about to upgrade the lock screen experience with a series of completely new fingerprint recognition effects in the One UI 8 update for LockStar - a familiar customization module in the Good Lock toolkit. These changes not only make unlocking more interesting but also bring a subtle way to express personality on Galaxy devices.

According to a Samsung Community forum administrator, LockStar is about to add 5 new fingerprint effects, including a ghost icon effect that has been revealed through screenshots. Although Samsung has not announced specifically what each effect looks like, the addition of dynamic effects promises to make the lock screen more lively and personal.

Users will be able to choose fingerprint effects that suit their own style, from gentle and subtle to outstanding and personal. This is a step forward for Galaxy to catch up with the personalization trend that many other Android smartphone brands have followed. Each touch to unlock the device will not only be a familiar operation, but also a unique visual highlight.

This new feature will be activated when LockStar officially receives the update for One UI 8. Although LockStar is currently compatible with One UI 8, the version that supports the new fingerprint effect has not been released yet. Samsung is expected to start rolling out One UI 8 widely in early August, so users can expect LockStar to be updated around the same time.

In addition to LockStar, Samsung is also rolling out the One UI 8 update to many other Good Lock modules. Some, such as Home Up, have been upgraded with many new features, while NotiStar and Game Booster+ are still waiting to be optimized. SamCafe will continue to monitor and update you as soon as the official release is available.
