Samsung has just launched its latest foldable devices, running Android 16 with One UI 8 interface. At the same time, the company is also expanding the testing of the new update to older models, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

According to software update tracking site Akhilesh Kumar on the X platform, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 have now started receiving the One UI 8 test version. Specifically, the software version with the number F936BXXUAIYG3 for the Fold 4 and F721BXXUAIG3 for the Flip 4, according to Tarun Vats.

Both devices are on the roadmap to receive four major operating system updates, and One UI 8 on Android 16 will be the last update. After that, users will continue to receive security patches until 2027.

Although the official release date is not yet clear, given the current testing speed, we can expect the update to be released in the next few weeks. Samsung seems to be doing a great job of optimizing the software before a wide release.

One UI 8 promises to improve the experience on both devices, especially on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with a 90:10 split-screen feature. This is considered an improvement that helps make better use of the display space of the book-shaped folding device. In addition, Samsung will also add many other convenient features, including expected bug fixes like Toast History.

If you don't want to wait but still want to experience One UI 8 early, the fastest way is to pre-order new devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. These are all significant upgrades compared to the Fold 4 and Flip 4 generations launched more than four years ago, in which the Galaxy Z Fold 7 stands out with many powerful improvements.
