Samsung is overhauling its software testing strategy by expanding the One UI 8.5 Beta program to an unprecedented number of devices. Moving away from its traditional focus on a select few premium flagships, the tech giant is now rolling out the beta on a massive scale, mirroring the approach of major Android OS updates.

The One UI 8.5 Beta is currently live across six major markets: the US, the UK, South Korea, Germany, Poland, and India. This strategic move highlights Samsung's push to accelerate its software refinement process by gathering diverse user feedback across multiple regions.

The growing roster of eligible devices now includes:

  • Galaxy S Series: Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra; Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra; Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra

  • Fan Edition (FE): Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE

  • Foldables: Galaxy Z Fold 7, Fold 6, Fold 5; Galaxy Z Flip 7, Flip 6, Flip 5

  • Mid-Range: Galaxy A36

Compared to the initial phase, which exclusively supported the flagship Galaxy S25, the program's scope has broadened rapidly. Most notably, the inclusion of the Galaxy A36 signals a significant shift in Samsung's approach, bringing early beta access to the mid-range segment—a rarity in previous testing cycles.
