Samsung is widening the net for its One UI 8.5 beta program, rolling out the second beta build for the Galaxy S25 FE alongside ongoing updates for the flagship S25 and S24 series. However, there’s a catch: the highly anticipated Apple file-sharing feature is still missing in action.

Carrying the firmware version ZZD5, this latest beta for the S25 FE focuses strictly on under-the-hood stability and system bug squashing rather than flashy new features. Still, mobile photographers will find a small treat, as the update introduces three new camera filters—Classic Film, Pop Film, and Blanc—designed to add a creative flair to everyday shots.

On the performance front, Samsung has ironed out several nagging issues. The update resolves spontaneous Bluetooth disconnections, truncated notification displays, and the frustrating screen flickering and color shifting that occurred when zooming in Dual Recording mode. As a result, the day-to-day user experience feels noticeably smoother.

Despite these solid improvements, seamless file sharing with Apple devices via Quick Share and AirDrop remains absent on the S25 FE. This stands in stark contrast to Samsung’s premium offerings, as recent beta builds for the top-tier S25 and S24 models have already integrated the cross-platform sharing capability.

Earlier this year, Samsung debuted AirDrop compatibility on the Galaxy S26 via a software update, promising a broader rollout across its ecosystem. Yet, the current selective release strategy has left many users wondering if this cross-platform perk will remain a flagship-exclusive priority.

Eager to test the waters? Users can join the beta program via the Samsung Members app. Once registered, simply navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install to grab the latest build.
